Turkey Scouting / Stumpin'
« on: April 02, 2011, 03:36:00 PM »
With next weekend being our Turkey opener here, I thought I would go check one of my favorite spots.
     Took along my pardner "Benny"

It was an awesome morning we were a little after sunrise and as I stepped out of the truck I heard a Gobbler already on top of the ridge.

We spent a couple hours hiking back in this valley and stump shooting.

Can you find my arrow in the last picture?

Looks good Pat. But you know there will be 3 feet of snow there next week. Always happens in CO on the opener.  :)

Ryan,
Spring time in the Rockies, upper 70's today and high 30's with snow tomorrow.

Are you getting any of the storm that is headed our way?

Yep, I found it. Took me a minute but the shadow of the arrow shaft gave it away.
Dead center of the pic, then straight left. Just to the left of the biggest limb touching the ground, the arrow is stuck in the main part of the tree trunk.

Pat, that's pretty country you're in. What is the bow in the pic? Good luck with the gobblers.

Yes we are Pat. Raining with snow tonight. Man I'm tired of the snow, it's making getting to the bait sites a real pain.
