This one my nephew picked up for free. I`m trying to help him get it shootin` decent. I can`t make out the model as you can see the brand is pretty worn off. Any ID would be appreciated. I need to know what the brace height should be and carbon arrow selection and weight, string type & length, etc. It has a string but I have no idea what it is. The string also has those rubber finger thingy`s on it. I`m also unsure what all the numbers mean. The +40+ and CD2909K are a mistery to me. Anyhow, i`ll gladly take all the help and info I can get.

After a clean up and wax job it looks like a Manitou

Nice lookin' bow.  I think those Shakespeares are some fine bows for the money.
Looks like it probably is a 42# bow.

Take the string, pull it tight and measure it.  Then get another string.
Unless it is to be used for a fishin' bow I'd leave the no gloves off, the rubber thingys.

I'd try an 8" brace height and go from there.  Change it about 1/4" each way till you find the "sweet spot".

For arrows I'd go wit some GT 35/55s.  I start with a 125 grn. tip and leave the shafts full length.  Cut them as needed for the correct spine, being long is fine.  The shorter you cut them, the stiffer they'll be.  To weaken 'em add more weight up front.

Good luck, and have fun..  :archer2:

PEARL DRUMS

I have a "The Peco's" that is 58" long. It lokks exactly the same as yours.

Could be a Necedah! I just got this one for free had a twisted limb I had to straighten but other that it is real nice, 54 inch 45lb shoots great!

oops wrong bow pic...not sure it looks like a manitou but not sure if manitou had tip over lays...necedas(x26)were usually darker reddish color except later years...but i can tell by strike plate thats an earlier year that came with feather rests...

Friend

Had a Sierra back in the early seventies.

Seems to me that the riser looked similar.

My mind is failing me.
