Archery club question.
« on: April 07, 2011, 09:09:00 PM »
How are your dues structured. I have located a club where initial dues are $100.00 but the next year you can renew for $25.00 with eighteen work credits.
It has a indoor NFAA range, indoor 3D range and outdoor 3D range. Plus use of any and all club equipment for free. They have a JOAD program also.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Our club has dues of $30.00 per year but that is for outdoors only.

The club I am with is $60 for single person, $70 for a family. There is a $25 sign up fee and no work required. There is a core group of guys that maintains the grounds and works the 3D shoots. We have 35 acres with outside range to 100 yards and an indoor range to 20 yards.

how long do have to work for one credit?

Even at $100 dallors a year for all that its pretty good.

I only pay $30 a year but my club has no where near what that club has.

We don't even have running water.

Attending a meeting-1 credit
Each hour work-1 credit.

That's my understanding.

1 credit equals how many dollors?

This sounds very interesing. We have a hand full of members that do most of the work, to included work days and shoots. I would be interested to get more details on this.

Sounds like a good system.  I especially like the credit portion to encourage member participation in the meetings and workcrews.  I've been involved in several clubs who ask for participation, but it seems all the work gets done by less than 10% of the people who are really committed members.

The $100.00 for a membership for what you said is offered is a good price.  The work credit is a good thing.

I would jump on this one

Our club has a initiation fee of 35.00 and membership of 50.00. Members must join the Va. Bowhunters Ass.25.00. So 110.00 the first year and 75.00 / year there after. Each head of household or member must work 8 hours a year. Over 65 the membership is 1/2 and the work hours are excused.
We have 1 1/2 field ranges , indoor range and a outdoor 3-d range.Almost 90 acres to shoot , hike , camp ect.  Not bad huh? Thanks , Roy
Thanks , Roy
Maybe it is time to shoot what I have on the rack

The dues at our club are $45. a year with 10 hrs. of work that includes a key for the indoor range you can use 24/7. Otherwise it's $45. plus $10. for every hr. of work not preformed.

Yikes, mine is $150/year family membership but that includes all association dues and memberships so I guess it's in line with you guys.

Cheap at twice the price.  Every member of a club is a better shooter than any non-member.  No matter how much you know there's always something that another member knows that you don't.

Sounds like a good price for what you are getting.
With all volunteer clubs it is a small group that makes every thing happen, and I bet it is the same every where you go.  We just bought some land next to the club to push us close to 30 acres. Here is a link to our club, it is open to all archers not just traditional guys. Can look at our membership dues here along with what we offer.

Our club, Tupper Lake Archers cost $35 per year but this includes a $20 membership in Tupper Lake Rod & Gun Club.  We have a 14 target butt outdoor range which is open at any time except during a 3D shoot.  We have a 50 yard sight in range and a 20 yard indoor heated range that members can use 24/7 unless a function is going on.  We only charge 50cents for a paper target.  For our winter "league" night, we charge $10 for the entire winter and we shoot on Wednesday nights.  After the winter ends we take the money we collected and buy a bunch of stakes and have a cookout in May!  I think we have a lot to offer for a very low price.  Oh yeah, and you are NOT required to do any work if you don't want to.  But, people who help before a 3D shoot get to shoot for 1/2 price.
Mike
