Nope. Usually the AMO is about 3-4" longer than actual string length.

60" AMO can equate to a 56-57" string.

The guy I talked to at 3R said for recurves get a string 4 inches shorter than your AMO. I have no clue about longbows. Sorry

Ditto on the 56" string for a recurve (generally a recurve string is 4" shorter than the AMO length).  For a longbow the string is 3" shorter (a 60" longbow would require a 57" string).  Just a general rule of thumb, however, at SBD they want you to measure the actual stretched out string because their string materials creep very little.

I have two 66" take down recurves and they both take a 62" bowstring. The standard 4" shorter for recurves and 3" shorter for longbows" is usually the norm.
