Selway Quiver ? Limb bolt or slide on
« on: April 16, 2011, 06:03:00 PM »
I have a 3 piece takedown recurve. I am on the fence on getting a limb bolt or slide on quiver. I have a slide on soft coat on my one piece recurve and I really like it. I just want to here any advantages of the limb bolt. It looks really nice. Will the limb bolt help with vibration like the slide on. Will it help quiet the bow like the slide on. Thanks.

The limb bolt will position the two quiver pieces closer together which helps provide feather clearance. Thus there's no noise from feathers brushing together at the shot. The bolt on also adds mass to the bow which reduces bow vibration and helps quiet the bow.  In short, either will work fine.  I prefer the bolt on for 3-piece take downs and the slide on for one piece bows.

Yep, Orion's on track.  I like the bolt on for take downs.

Same here on the bolt-ons. Plus, you can remove the bolt-on a lot easier than you can a slide-on, in case you ever need to.

I have used the slide on the Side Mount and the bolt on I like the Quick Detach best.CON it is a little heavier then the rest. PRO'S it comes off easy. Selway has new quiver it a Strap on Quiver have not used this one.

I love my quick detach limb bolt quiver from Great Northern.  To  me it's the best ofboth worlds.  I can have it on when walking, and when on stand, 2 thumb screws allow me to take it off.  No need to disassemble the bow to remove it.
