Snow again
« on: April 28, 2011, 10:53:00 PM »
I gave up & it's snowing again. Just had to shoot a few shots. Went into the back yard & shot a few shots into a target I'd made by stuffing a kitty litter bag full of shrink wrap plastic a feed store here gave me.
I guess I stuffed it too tightly, because the first arrow I shot at it bounced off from 12 yards. This is from a 60lb Howard Hill long bow. Still fun.

Frank, I know it really sucks. We had 18" a while back and another dusting on Tuesday. Really ready for spring. I have been out shooting in the wind and snow though. Good practice. But I need some warm weather stumping.

I feel for you. Was in Montana last week and got dumped on with about six inches, which pretty much shut down the turkey hunting.  At least it melts quick out there.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Wish I had a change of seasons down here, been wearing flip-flops and shorts for the past 2 months    :(

It's been pretty hot and dry though, which is usually a good sign that hurricanes will be hitting us this year    :scared:

Another Michigander here. We are 3 weeks behind in the weather pattern I figure. Water temp was
52 degrees April 17th in the rivers around me.
this year, they are currently 44 degrees. Hopefully no more snow.... "wait 15 minutes and see what happens".

We had about 180 inches of snow this winter and we have had the over 5  inches of rain in April. Our weather has been terrible, hate to complain when I see those in the South and their homes and businesses wiped out in 10 min. So many deaths and lives disrupted. Seems like the weather around the country is crazy.

Have our first outdoor shoot of the year this weekend... Called it the "Icebreaker Shoot" for years, now it looks like for good reason. I'm guessin we will be shooting in at least 6" of fresh snow!!
