Took a couple o kids stumpin'
« on: April 29, 2011, 11:58:00 PM »
My wife's friend came over tonight to visit with my wife. She brought her 10-year-old son along. He looked bored so my 14 year-old and I took him and our bows out to the woods behind our house. He is the same age as my step daughter so he used her bow. After our second arrow he had the biggest grin on his face and he said "I know what I'm saving my money for!". He had a blast and had lots of questions about hunting and shooting and the deer and moose sign we were finding in the bush. When we got back to the house he went right to his mom to tell her about his evening. We may have got another one hooked. Too cool!!

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

It was really neat to see how my 14 year-old son interacted with him. He was so encouraging and patient. I've always taken my son out with my friends who were really good with him and it's cool to see how he picked that up and treats people younger than him now!
