Primitive/Survival trap
« on: May 06, 2011, 06:41:00 PM »
Since this is a trad site. I thought I'd show a couple trad traps that I may use this fall. I always wanted to catch a fur bearer with a non modern trap. First is a figure 4 dead fall, the other is a figure 9 dead fall. Both meant to crush the animal. Only a knife and a heavy object is needed to construct.

Nice, but this isn't a trad site, it's a trad BOWHUNTING site.

Well, with my trad trap, I'm gonna make some trad quivers, for my trad arrows, that I can shoot out of my trad bow. But, if you prefer, I'll delete the pics.

I moved this one back with an explanation so folks will get a better idea of what we allow and what we don't and why.

"This is my beaver quiver" for my Trad Bow...I caught it in a trap and it turned out nice....yadda yadda yadda."

This is what we would allow as we always try to 'tie a knot' to link a thread to Trad Bowhunting.

"This is my survival trap"....yadda yadda yadda...and I plan on making a quiver when I catch something.

This would not be allowed because we have to 'tie TWO knots' to link it to Trad Bowhunting.

If we allowed "two knot topics' the site would loose its intended purpose in a hurry.

This 'one knot' philosophy was incorporated since the founding of Trad Gang to keep the main focus of Trad Bowhunting in tact.  I hope this makes sense.
