lets talk packs

I had an Eberlestock X2 pack that was nice, not perfect but the best I've had so far. Anyway someone stole it when I brought it to the laundry mat to wash the elk blood out of it while I was momentarily in the restroom    :mad:  

So I need a new pack, so im contemplating another X2 but im also liking the looks of a Bison Gear Lost River.  Bison gear is just a short drive from here,  so they are local guys, and they are a sponsor here which is great. But I need some input on them. The X2 cans be had for $100 less than the BG, but its not all about cost.


Who has a BG pack and what's the skinny on them. Pics if you have them are great

I've had mine for 15yrs easy . They were pack Idaho. best pack I have had . Very comfy built well, tough . You can't go wrong. I have a badlands pack also Great pack - heavy and the zipper pulls broke within a year?? Bison gear are hunting packs made for hunters and they last.

I got a Lost River for my wife and I have a Lemhi, both are made from bucksuede.  They are the nicest packs I have used.  They are quiet, waterproof, and they even put extra length straps on them to fit my extended figure.  I haven't halled any dead animal parts out with them yet but I have hauled about 40 pounds of stuff around in the Lemhi and it was very comfortable.  Besides being a sponsor here they are also great supporters of the PBS youth hunts.     I have never tried an Eberlestock pack so I can't compare the two but I don't think you would be dissapointed with BG.

Bison are the only packs I use . Quiet, durable and well made they exactly what I need in a hunting pack. I have three different sizes to cover all my needs .
Angelo is great guy to deal with.
Can't say enough good things about Bison Gear .

I currently have an Eberlestock Just One pack. Although no meat has been packed out yet... it has easily hauled all my gear around the mountains while getting in shape for some backpack hunting this fall/winter. Comfortable, well built, and easily expandable from a day pack to a hauler. I do not see me needing another pack for a long time.

I have an X2 and a BG Lehmi. While the Lehmi is made with green Filson wool and a nice looking pack all around, the X2 is much better and much more comfortable to carry on my back. You just can't beat that frame

Won't knock the Bison packs, but X2 for me.  Do what I did, save the $100 and put it towards a new bow!LOL

BTW, I also bought their spike duffle bag (not the super spike duffle) that I strap on to the X2 for the pack-in.  That makes it go from 1800 cu. in. to around 3700 cu.in.  Leave the duffle at the tent and you have a really comfortable day pack that will haul the first quarter out and then some.
