Snake Boots

I am planning on getting a pair of snake boots soon. I know a lot of people like the Danners. Just wondering what you think of Cabelas snake boots. They have good reviews on there site. And they cost a lot less. I would like to hear your opinions on this.

Look in the archives for much more info. Snake boots are too hot in the south. Many opt for snake guards. My favorites are knee-high cheap plastic wrap arounds that zip in the back. Pant legs can go over the top which help keep legs cooler. I have Cordura also but too hot.

I have them.  They are shorter than some of the really expensive ones but I like them.  They zip up in the front which makes them easy on, easy off.  If you are close to cabelas it's nice because they have a life time warranty so you can take them back.  they are water proof and have a nice shoe like sole on them.  PM if you have any other questions.  Good luck.

I have the Chippewas with the all leather uppers. I suppose they can be a little hot but you get used to it. They really help to keep the mesquite and cactus and bugs off you.

I just bought a pair of red head brand from bass pro.  I really like them and they are very comfortable from the start.  I looked at the cabelas brand but I am not close to a store to try them on.  I am glad I went to the bass pro store because I ended getting size 13 and not the 14 that I usually wear.  These boots zip up the side for easy on and off.

I have the Muck Boot Woody Armor that are snake proof.  I also use the kevlar knee to ankle snake guards when in hot weather.

I recently bought the Danners.  Before I had some Chippewa snake boots and they lasted 7 hard years.  They finnaly started seeping.

Chippewas all they way.... I own 2 Pair, slip  on with the cordura uppers, they are light, cool and easy on and off, not waterproof though. the other are the Lace Up Waterproof ones, heavier, warmer.. but I still love'm

I walked all over Basalt for 2 weeks in Australia in cabelas snake boots and they were very comfortable and durable.  They didn't look to nice after 2 weeks of being drug over lava but they were still keeping the water out.  I really liked mine.
