I was reading on Herb's website and it says " An occasional application of paste wax guards against moisture invasion, ensuring that the bow's finish continues to act as a seal."
I would like to know what do all of you use?

I use a Birchwood Casey gunstock wax to wipe on my bows,it's not a paste wax but does a great job.Probably any good furniture paste wax will do the same.I would use a paste wax if my bow had some scratches in the finish to protect the wood.

Johnson paste has worked for me. Just do it before season so the odor fades

I just use what my wife and I use on our Toyota trucks, Meguiar's wax.    Only the best for the best!

In the past I have used a paste wax for cultured marble tops.

Does using these waxes change how shiney or reflective the bow finish is?  In other words, if the bow had a matte finish and then you use the wax, is it still matte?  Or does the wax make it shiny?  I suppose a light coat would not change it much, just wondering.

I use "Butcher's Wax" which is made for furniture. The odor fades quickly, there os no high gloss and it does a good job of protecting the bow.

If the wax makes the limbs shiny, just wax the sides over the lams. I concentrate there and the string nicks.  Especially the lower limb as I rest on it often

Most any good paste wax works great. And yes, it does help protect your bow!
