The prototype arrived safely yesterday afternoon. I only got to shoot it about 10 times before having to leave the house for the wife's birthday celebration.

Preliminary observations are aas follows:

Fit and finish are tops. The satin finish looks nice and even throughout the limbs and riser.

This bow is lightweight. Holding it you think it should weigh more than it does. The grip style fits my hand perfectly and comfortably.

It throws my GT Trad 1535s like darts. I need to shoot more today and tinker with tip weights and brace height. It is burying the same arrows deeper into the target than my 40# longbow that's in my signature line. The factory nocks on the GTs are very loose on this thin FF string (at least I think it's FF).

Someone earlier posted, "Does it sing?"

Yes, it does. It hits the target hard. Maybe an appropriate name for this bow is Stinger.

I have it braced at 7.25".

The top limb is marked with a small "T" on one side near the limb bolt hole. It is a little hard to see (my poor vision) but it is cleaarly there.

I'm taking it to a 3d shoot today. I'll report back with more when I shoot it alot more.

I'm shooting two fingers under and draw 29". If your draw is more than that you're pulling this 58" bow too far. I'm right on the edge of maximum draw. Chad said a 60" bow would be better for me and I agree. I'll be trying to shrink my draw to about 28.5 while shooting it.

So far I think Chad has a winner here. But don't ask him to make one out of sassafras.

Promising first review Chad!! I figured as much though. You make great bows. Good luck with the TD models.

I got to shoot the prototype a little more today. I wasn't comfortable yet to actually shoot it in the tournament. But I did fling some arras at a 20yd target. My groups were a bit spread out at first. After getting a little more used to a FF string (I shoot B55 flemish) my groups tightened up. I had four arrows at 20 yards with feathers nearly touching each other.

I did get to chrono a 397gr arrow. It was right at 170fps. The arrow used was a full length GT Trad 1535 with a 125gr field tip. I imagine I could get more fps out of it but I'll be the first to admit that my release ain't the smoothest.

I showed it to other trad shooters (all right handed) and several commented on the light weight of the bow and of the craftsmanship. One fellow really wanted to shoot it but said he just can't shoot left handed. All gawkers really liked the color of the bow. Good comments on the finish also.

There is a trad only shoot this upcoming weekend at Sissapawhaw in Burlington, NC. After I take it there I'll ship it to the next shooter.

I have not noticed any handshock. It makes a dull and lightly heard "thunk" when I shoot it. Not much sound at all but some. A bystander commmented on how quiet he thought it was.

I'm going to move up to a 145gr tip and practice with that this week in prep for the shoot at Sissapawhaw. I won't forget my camera next time.

By the end of my shooting session today the bow was allowing me to draw it fully to my regular anchor point. There was absolutely no stack. Drawing from the first inch to the final anchor was a steady smooth resistance.

I may twist up a B55 string for it and see what happens.

You have a nice prototype on your hands Chad. Very nice bow. I can only imagine how sweet a 60" or a 62" bow would be at 45#.

I finally got to shoot Stinger for about 30 minutes today after work and before a storm. After flinging about 120 arrows at various yardages I was able to get this group in from 15. There are eight arrows in this group. They are full length GT Trad 1535s with 145gr tips.

   

And here it is at my full draw.

   

I would take this bow to the woods for whitetail without hesitation. A passthrough is almost guaranteed unless bone stops it. This bow is a very nice piece of craftsmanship and design. Chad has a winner in my humble and inexperienced opinion. I'd like to have this bow in my ground blind this fall.

No need Chad. I was uploading some photos and wanted to add a bit more to the review so folks could hear my thoughts on your work.

I took the bow to the Sissipahaw Traditional Archer's shoot this morning. Last week I had the bow for only a day and didn't use it in my local 3D shoot circuit. After a week of evening shooting and making a new string of B55 I tested the waters with a new bow at a shoot that is always top notch.

I got in a 20 target course. Sissipahaw always sets their targets in more of a hunting setting. You have to shoot between trees and through light brush at times just like a true hunting outing and shooting at game. It is an absolutely beautiful place and this is my second time there. If you live close enough to make one of their shoots you really should go.

During the course I tried to make sure I anchored each draw consistently and concnetrated on my release each time, etc... I ended up with my best 3D score to date. Ever.

The draw on this design is fluid, steady, and constant. I have no perceived handshock with this bow upon release. I'm not overly sensitive to handshock anyway, but trying different grip styles of shooting I could never make myself feel any.

This bow is fast and a straight shooter. I used GT Trad 1535s at full length with standard inserts and 145gr tips.

I hope the next shooter in line enjoys it as much as I have.
