Bob,
Yes. Jim Rebuck J & M Traditions from PA does it. I've seen some Deadheads he did to match the swirly cap dip broadhead too.

Gun-Kote would be a great candidate for this application...the best way to think of it is a paint-epoxy.  It's used and looks like paint ans is some tough stuff once it "sets".

They also make graphite paint.  E-Z Slide is one brand.  Some truckers use the commercial version to paint their trailers, so it must work to some degree.  May turn out to be the DIY version of teflon coating.

Get to it! lol

I like it Rob. While hunting, a fella spends a lot more time sitting in a tree or hunting from the ground looking at his bow and arrow than he does shooting it.  Looking at those heads would bring a smile to my face every time.

Looking at those did bring a smile to my face.  Thanks for sharing, now you do know your going to have to post a picture with those and a dead animal, don't you Rob?

I'm going to try using the gun blueing.  I bet that would look stellar.  Does anyone have a picture of the ones you have done that way?

I'm liking the idea of gun blueing.  Might have to try that!!!!

I don't think this is exactly what you by custom but I decide to paint my Grizzlys as they had a lot of bare metal showing through after sharpening.I had a can of zinc phosphate primer from another project and used it.Funny how it looks identical to the old green Zwickeys I have.I wonder if that is what they used.I have basically 2 different sets of arrows for my hunting bows and both have similar looking shafts, the same wraps and fletch colors.I wanted to be able to tell them apart at a glance so I do have white nocks on one set and orange on the other but also decided to have different color broadheads.

camo dip the whole shaft and broadhead.

Might look cool.

Probably need to clear coat over the dip on the shaft.

I like them. If for no other reason - both whitetails that I shot with trad gear left the arrrow sticking out on both sides and broke off the broadheads. It was easy finding the fletching end of arrow, but I lost both broadheads. If they were pretty like rob's, I may have found them.

Here are some of the tradepoints I talked about earlier in the thread. Not a great picture but shows how the blueing darkens the steel.

Here is where I tried painting them with green automotive paint it didnt stick very well.

Another picture with the blueing

Something different to do. Nothing like having your own 'customized" heads.

Maybe some red ones with "DOA" on the blades. lol

Been painting shafts and broadheads same color for a few years now. Key is to clean the BH and sand it good, a coat of primer helps. Painted BH has several advantages, it makes blood easier to see and it helps me keep the correct angle while sharping and allows you see any part of the edge you may have missed!! Couple of pic's.

good luck!
