New Bowhunting Boot
« on: May 31, 2011, 09:29:00 AM »
A friend had run into a Navy Seal while deer hunting and was telling me about the light weight pair of boots that this guy was wearing, desrcibed them and asked if I knew anything about them.I didn't but later heard some rumblings about Under Armour's Zalsetz boot,by bowhunters, and saw that it had rave reviews for comfort and lightness. He confirmed that it was THE boot.Average weight is supposed to be 15 oz per boot, colors tan and black.

Well my friend didn't like the idea that it did not have Gortex so he called the company to see if they would ever produce one. They said wait till Sept 1 and they were bringing out a camo version with Gortex, called the "Speed Freak".This may be the light weight boot I have been looking for,for a long time.

USCav says they will have them for sale the end of June.I don't know who is right about time, but I will have a pair and will report back.

You can do a search for Under Armour Speed Freak Boots and find it.I had more luck with Bing than Google.

Cool looking boots. I just pick up some light weight goretex boots from cabelas. There called silent stalker sneaker Cabelas brand, I'm loving them so far.

Cool Jim B. I'll have to check those out, I have always also liked a quiet boot, hard to find...Impossible I suppose, I always carry a pair of 'Bears Feet' in my day pack when I am bowhunting, I'm not even sure if they make them anymore, they are a light pair of felt like slippers with a soft carpet like bottom that fit over your entire boot and then use velcro to close on top, they make you near silent for those final stalks.

I found the Valsetz tactical boot by Under Armour doing a web-search.  They say water resistant. Didnt hit anything using the bowhunter key word.  Usually get what you pay for in boots...at a $100 you would probably get a year out of em around here off trail.
