8 reasons I love Trophy Rocks

Set up my Cuddebak on my property last month and set out a Trophy Rock. I really have come to like using them to get pics and determine what deer are using our property. There were 708 photos when I checked the camera two days ago.  Here are 8 reasons I love Trophy Rocks.

We used to buy that for salting the cows at the feed store. It was about 10 dollars for 100 pounds. Then the company figured they could relable it and make more money. I talked to the guy that works in their warehouse. They sell a lot of it. If your wife likes to put sea salt on her food it is the same stuff. Gary

A friend of mine left one in the mountain and when he was back after 10 days it was all gone!

Bill try a feed supply place and get the Redmond Salt, same stuff just cheaper

Steadman....I'll do just that. I'll also check out suppliers of sea salt. What is really exciting is that all the "regulars" we thought might not make thru last winter did. Those 3 small bucks in the second pic are all siblings. I almost stepped on them the first week of the season climbing out of my stand last year.

I enjoy my rocks but don't get the same draw as you do.  In my area they are good for casual browsing but there are many crops and other items for them to feed on.  I like how long they last and how they look natural.

I tryed some a couple of years ago...it just layed on the ground all fall/winter. Maybe I'll give the Redmond salt a try.

Mineral type attractants work best in spring and summer.

Google "deer mineral lick".  You'll be able to find a recipe for 200 lbs for about 40 bucks.  Beats the H out of anything I tried.

Longarrow: I set out a lick once just before the Fall season. Never got touched. Went back for some preseason scouting and there were two six in deep holes where I made the licks. All Spring/Summer work. WV is correct based on my experience.
