New Maddog
« on: June 02, 2011, 06:33:00 PM »
Just got my new maddog longbow in the mail today. 64" 50lbs @28. Brown glass with cocobola. Only got to shoot 30 arrows before I had to leave to work.  :banghead:  I think I will be shooting it in the yard when I get home at 1 am.  :goldtooth:   It shoots very nice, glad I have her. Mike did an awsome as always. Thanks again to Mike.

Yeah, that one was hard to send off, I really like the way it handles. I spent a good while shooting it and it was hard to put down. I've been playing around with making the standard longbow a little narrower; instead of the 1 1/2" wide limbs I used to make now they are closer to 1 1/4" wide limbs at the fadeouts. Meaning, they are a little thicker, but not as wide as one with wider limbs of the same weight. Seems to load the limbs a little eariler in the draw and gives it a bit more speed. I've made 3 like that so far and I think I'll stick with that idea.

Thanks,  still working so I have not been able to post pics. Did shoot it last nights, it shoots great!!!! it seems very fast! can go wrong with this bow. It is the more expensive of his bows and worth ever dime. The bow points very nice.

I'll tell you what, my little girl got a Pup Longbow, and the fit and finish on it is outstanding.

Mike, one of these days i'll be having you build me a matching 60" for myself...

Colour me jealous!  I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Maddog which should hopefully be here in the next couple of weeks.  I'm sure it's a beautiful bow!

Mike does make a nice bow, picked up a Mutt last year and it looks as good today as it did when it arrived. Can't wait to see pics of yours.
