I used the How to - Resourses to make kids arrows
« on: June 04, 2011, 02:23:00 PM »
I thought I would share some pic's of the arrows that I made for my 4 year old nephew and his buddy using Rob DiStefano's thread on Crafting excellent woodies the easy and cheap way. They both are getting Maddog Pup Recurves this month. I know I might have gone a little over board for some in making arrows for the kids but wanted to get a little taste of working with wood for the first time and I wanted to be able to fix them if ( when ) they brake em. This was a great learning experience for me and I got tell you after making them how much respect that I have for you Tradegang Arrowsmith's that have shared their pictures of the woodies that they have crafted. How much time and effort they put into them, outstanding!!

And I would like to thank Rob for sharing that thread with us, Thank You Sir!!

Fantastic looking arrows to say the least.

Loosing arrows is usually the issue not breaking them.....by the looks of it you have a few more shafts to work with in that bundle.

Well on their way to spoiled rotten!    :)   Hope you have a good backstop, or that'll be about 15 minutes worth of arrows!   :)

You did good! Nothing like shooting arrows with the kids other than making them for the kids

Nice work Brian....looks like you've got plenty of shafts left if they do lose them.  Y'all have fun!

Kids like making arrows too.  They "lose" or break fewer if they had a hand in making them.

Nice job.  Good looking quivers, too.  That How-To Forum is a great resource for do-it-your- selfers.

Brian you are a good man. Boys can never have enough arrows. Keep them shooting. I like the set-up they each have, very cool.

Thanks for all the compliments on the kids arrows. It was a great How To - thread to follow along with!

The back quiver's I got from 3-River's and added some feather to them for the boy's.

I also made them some block target's out of some meat coolers and I just had to buy each a Dink's animal target to get them started on their backyard target range.
