Dale Dye shooters question
« on: June 05, 2011, 10:44:00 AM »
Have picked up 2 used Dye Bows. The 58in. bow has a 18in riser. The 60in has a 20 in riser. The limbs look the same. Is this how he gets bow length, changing the riser length? This gives a shorter working limb than my Widow recurve.
Both use non-fast flight strings.
What is brace height for the 58 and 60 inch bows.  Both bows are smooth and fast. Works of art. Thanks for any advice , flinthead
Maybe it is time to shoot what I have on the rack

I have a 58" Dye and I don't think it loses anything in terms of how limb length compared to the 60". In fact I would have to say my Dye outperforms any Widow I have owned and I owned 4 of them.

I have a 60" on order and in his literature Mr. Dye suggests a 7.5 to 8.5 brace height.
Never wait too long!

I had several of Dale's bows and all where good solid bows. My 60" bow seemed to like a brace height at 7". My 58" liked 8". Just play around with it and let the bow tell you what it likes.

Been shooting these Dyes for a couple weeks, just got my Linda Brackenbury B-50 strings and the bow shoots much better. Either I am just on target today or Linda makes a much superior string. The old string took too many twist to get correct brace heigth. Thanks for the advice, These bows are great, Flinthead
