What's the difference

Can some one tell me what the diffrence is between a recurve string and a long bow string and why it matters?

With a recurve string, one end (for the the upper limb) has a larger diameter loop. I don't shoot longbows, but I think both ends of the string have the same size loop in diameter.

That is the only difference I can think of.

Longbows upper loop is a bit larger than the lower.  Both loops smaller than a recurve.

I run a smaller loop on my LB's on the bottom so for me it is jut the size of the loops with the recurve ones being larger and the string AMO lengths are not the same.
