Colorado mule deer !

I drew a Colorado archery Mule deer tag in units 23 , 24 and 33 . I have never hunted Colorado before and need some advice on where to go in these units . I'm willing to pay a trespass fee or if someone would like to hunt together ? I will be out there Sept. 18th to the 24th. I will be staying in a cabin near the White River area right were the three units that I mentioned meet ! Any info would be extremely helpful!! Thanks !

As for where to go I can't help that much. Never hunted there, but done some fishing. What I can tell you is that area is thick with mule deer. I've never been up there without seeing a lot of them. You can't hardly drive that road from Rifle to Meeker without hitting one. Of course it's mostly private land around the road. There are some state wildlife areas north of your cabin that should be good.
Be sure to check out the Colorado DOW's website too. They have much excellent information there. Dig deep. Some of it is hard to find.

Congrats on the tag! How many points did it take to draw?

No point at all ! I applied for an archery elk tag and mule deer . I was expecting to draw the elk and not the mule deer and the opposite happened .I will be hunting with 4 friends that all drew an elk tag which they had a point for . So I'm on my own , as they did not apply for a deer tag .

Good for you! Come on out to Colorado and kill a big one. I wish I could shoot the ones I see in town sometimes.
Something in the water (or soil) that just grows big antlers on the deer here.
Of course the price of admission here in Colo is pics on your hero post!
