Iron Hill whitetail co
« on: June 16, 2011, 10:46:00 AM »
Been a lurker here for years, but not a lot of posts.  Has anybody hunted with this outfitter yet?  I see they are a sponsor and I bought a preference point this year and after next years preferece I hope to be picked the 3rd season.  Starting to look for a Iowa outfitter.  Any help on this outfitter or any others that you can trusts with your hard earned money would greatly be appreciated.  Thanks

www.huntstraightarrow.com

Check out the site above, I personnally have never hunted with him... but, a friend of mine has known him for 10+years and swears by hunting with him...

I hunted in NE missouri this year,  and had the opertunity to visit and see his outfit prior to my hunt. There was a guy who shot a monster 8 when I was there,  Steve spends alot of time scouting and putting  his hunters on deer.  I hope to get a Drawn in the next year or so for IA,  when I draw a tag i plan on hunting with him.....

Check his sight out and look at the deer that were killed this year with him.....

I do know a few people who didnt draw with 3 points... so it may take 4.....

I have talked to Eric, owner of Iron Hills whitetails many times.  He seems like a really genuine great guy.  I hunted on some land in Iowa that I got permission to hunt last year.  When I draw again in two years I will definitely consider Iron Hills Whitetails very seriously.  Good luck.  Sam

A GIANT 8 with some "junk". Neat point coming out of his head by the right side base. Would leave an interesting mark on his rubs, I bet.

The pictures dont give him enough justice....

Cool story with the buck,  The guy who shot him said after the shot another buck came out bigger than him and picked a fight... ended up pushing him down in a revine,  he had tons of puncture wounds in his chest cavity... I bet it was pretty cool to watch.....

here is some pics of sheds they found on the farms this year....(from his site...)  there are still some monsters out there.....

His place is around Moravia, IA (UNIT/REGION 5)...  I do know that he is not a 100% trad outfitter and most of the guys shoot these bucks with wheelie bows... But thats ok,..Non the less there are some beautiful critters in that area, and im sure he will do what ever it takes to put you on some game....
