First longbow I had was a 68" Martin/Howatt ML-10? Really liked it, and killed a couple bucks and turkey with it, but it did require some extra finesse and/or pre-hunt planning to use from many types of tree stands. Shot the turkey from a ground blind, but this was pre-Double Bull when we were all making our own out of PVC tube and camo fabric, and ours were plenty tall.
It was actually a very pretty bow, but sold it at the Compton shoot to an Amish fellow.

I am another member of the ground hunting group my last kill was a hog with my 70" 21st century. I shot it in the brush along the Pease river in TX. I seem to be able to shoot my longbows at any angle so how thick it is doesn't seem to matter. Inside of a blind would be different. I have a 60" addcock I would use in that situation.
