Vacation with wife

I have to go to Colorado on the wifes dime,we go out every summer ,this year we will be at Durango Mtn resort north of Durango on  hwy 550 need to know if any elk close by,  say about 30 minute drive from resort, I can scout out, for bow season, I plan to walk about 90 minutes a day so need places close to area wife will proberly go fishing some with me any good high country lakes, Wife twisted my arm real hard to make me go   :D  plan on bow hunt this fall,been to unit 75 before and unit 71 unit 77...just looking for a new spot to bow hunt...will give report when I get back....

Arky, there is a forest service access road that travels right through the resort up into the mountains which gets you to a lot of trailheads and some great elk country....Shawn

scedvm ,thank you for the information,will be out there all week starting Saturday, If I see any thing I will let you know,trying to get up a trip with some fellow tradgangers,will be fishing some high country lakes also....My wife just loves it out there,  :D  I wish I could get her to chase elk with me...but she is to smart for that...
