How to set up an adjustable arrowrest?

I bought my first bow, a Hoyt Dorado (loving it, by the way), and I went ahead and put a centershot arrowrest on it. It has a threaded adjustable bolt that mounts it to the bow, and I'm wondering if anyone can give me tips on how to properly adjust this?

I currently have it all the way in, and the bolt is sticking way out the right side of the bow (it's a RH riser).

If you will get a level and place the bow string up on a support that you can place the level on so that it is across one of the limbs and put a arrow hanging down then you can screw in or out until the arrow is centered and strait down. That will be a good starting point for you to start your fine tuning from.

lean your bow against a tree and nock an arrow and step back and look down the limbs and get a center,then the arrow should just be on the left of the string for a right handed shooter..

@stevewills: what do you mean "on the left of the string"? You mean when looking from the top of the bow, the arrow should aim a little left?

from behind the bow line up your string and your field point will be on the left side of the sting,just the field point..and then i paper and bareshaft after getting that far

It explains why the arrow should point slightly left for RH shooters, "Adjust the 'Centre-Shot' position of the arrow on the arrow rest by winding the plunger button into or out of the riser.
To do this, nock the arrow on the bow, then looking from the rear of the arrow, align the bowstring with the centre of the top and bottom limbs, then check the alignment of the arrow shaft to the bowstring.
For bows shot with fingers, the correct alignment should be 'Outside Centre-Shot' position.
Only the diameter of the arrow at the point should be to the left of the bowstring.
The reason for this position is to counter-act the slight sideways motion of the bowstring on release from the fingers."

Sent you an email Nick....also google "archers paradox" in y-tube videos. These help you understand why tuning and spine are so important.

Especially the vid by Yononindo. Note the underspined arrows at time vid 2:00/2:54 with hand protection. Never shood a kids arrow in an adult bow.
