I done Did it! Thanks.
« on: July 08, 2011, 05:43:00 PM »
After a bunch of research on bow woods, getting helpful folks here on Trad Gang and elsewhere to send me Whip pics, I finally pulled the trigger.  Called up Mr. Toelke this afternoon and ordered a 62" Whip, Mac.Ebony Riser, Dark Myrtle (err, is it Murtle like Yertel the Turtle?) 53# @28 or so, went straight the bank and Post Office, money is on the way.  Only 30 days to wait, but I AM a bowhunter so I must have LOTS of patience, right?

Anyway, just wanted to once again and again and again thank everyone who has supported my bow habit, sent me whip pics, and reinforced my thoughts that the Toelke Whip is THE bow to have.  This will be my first custom and my wife will probably get annoyed    when it gets here as I take my focus off her beauty and sit and stare    at my NEW BOW and jump around like a durned fool!   :bigsmyl:   YEEEEEEHAAAAA!! Saints be praised, I'm a gittin' a new BOW!!!    :jumper:

I AM OFFICIALLY a Trad-Mad Man!!

Best of Luck!

Congrats on your new bow! I am going to be up near cotton in a week and half! Is there any trad shops or ranges to shoot at in your area?

Congrat's Tom.  You will love the Whip.  Been watching for one with bow bolt myself in the low to mid 60# range.  Your choice in woods is righ up my alley as well.  You MUST put pics up when it arrives!

RobHood23--
The only trad shop I know of in the area is not really in the area--G&M Archery in Benedict (over by Brainerd, I think).  As far as ranges, not alot to speak of there either.  You might fish around on the Traditional Bowhunters of Minnesota site.  There are a few bow shops around Duluth but they are pretty much totally wheel bow oriented.  Any one can shoot but you won't seem much for non-wheeled bows and the ones I have seen are not-well priced (old, neglected probably from someone's attic).  My favorite range is me shooting in my backyard.
The range fees are REALLY cheap for me!  If I hear about anything else I will let you know.

TomBow the bow is coming.....and she's gonna be SSssaaaaa-weeeeeeet-ah!

Got a classic whip back in the winter. You will NOT regret this purchase.  Dan sent me the completed bow before the down payment check made it to him.  Fine gentleman and superb bow.
