Super Disappointing Day
« on: July 12, 2011, 02:17:00 AM »
I am the administrator of a nursing home and I had state surveyors and a fed come into my facility this afternoon  :banghead:    They will take about a week to do an audit of the care we provide our residents.  It is incredibly important that the survey go well has it has a huge impact on a facilities reputation and even funding.

So unfortunately my plans to head down to Nashville for the IBO World's just went out the window.  I can't believe they showed up this week of all weeks.  I am still hoping for some kind of miracle, like my boss flies in to cover for me, but that's not going to happen.  I still don't know how much of the plane tickets, hotel, and car I will be able to recoup.  I know in the grand scheme of things, it's just another 3-d shoot, but I am still bummed.  I was sure hoping to meet a bunch of you guys down there, maybe next year...

OK, I am done whining.

I am sorry that you are having such poor luck with how things are falling out for you.

It is very understandable that with all that's turned your plans into so much "grits" that you'd be bummed out.

Hang in there and keep doing what you do best,it won't go unnoticed.

Prayers for you and the situation.

God bless,Mudd

That's too bad Derrick.  My daughter is a social worker at a nursing home, so I hear all about those state audits.  No fun at all, but a necessary part of the business you are in I guess.

Get yourself through it and do a great job, then treat yourself to a reward by coming out to Denton Hill instead!  You'd love it!

Derrick, you have no idea how lucky you are.

Yes you will miss a fun event you were looking forward to, but there are worse things life can throw at you, as I think you probably already know.

Good luck with the review.

Sorry that the timing worked out as it did.  Maybe you could switch the tickets to get to Denton Hill as Whip suggested.  Someday I hope to make that grand event.  Good luck with the audit!

I know exactly what you mean.

The state is at our residential health care facility also doing audits.

Needless to say its a stressful week but seems if everything is going well so far.

I know my department is running as it should.

Sorry this ruined your vacation.
Relax,

I appreciate the condolences.  It's always a stressful time when they show up and it just happened to be a double whammy that is messed up a trip.  I was real irritated yesterday but it's fine.  In the realm of bad things that can happen, I will count my lucky stars for the health of my family and excellent job and hope that nothing BAD actually ever does happen.  Thanks for nice comments.
