Ron Foley is truly a great bowyer and a super nice guy. I won these two longbows (custom made for me) that he donated to the Compton Dream Raffle a couple of years ago. They are works of art and sweet shooting bows. The three-piece longbow killed a whitetail the first fall I had it, and the one-piece longbow killed a nice Merriam's tom this past spring here near my home.
I think Bill Foreman with Great Plains is a great guy as well. He used to hunt up here in SW Colorado. I own a small retail business and have sold his bows here locally for many years. Every time I order a nice longbow for myself I wind up selling it to a customer so I don't own a bow of his personally yet. But he makes some really nice longbows and recurves.

Had the honor of shooting a couple of Milton Callaway's 21st Century Longbows at the IBO Trad World. Actually shot numerous bows, however the 21st Century experience is still being replayed and replayed. Mitlon was extremely friendly,, knowledeable and accommodating. Choosing between the 66" and the 70" was toss up. Both were extremely smooth, balanced, extremely pointable, quick shooters and hit where I looked.
I am quite sure they are a dream bow for many.

Ron Robinson, Sporting Chance Bows was in Llano. I don't know if he still is or not. Never had any dealings with him.
Anyone know him?

Brute killer,
Yes, my first and still favorite custom bow was by Ron around 1995. It was the most beautiful looking and performing r/d longbow I have ever shot. As far as I know he is still in LLano.
I believe I have his e-mail address still.

David Neidigh of Renegade Archery, Inc., Athens, Texas. David builds a few longbows a year, including the Spirit I and II and a take-down. Pete Ward reviewed David's Spirit II.

Went to visit with Bob Sarrels a couple times over the last few weeks and learned a few tips and tricks. Really improved my own bow building skills. Great guy and I would have to agree he makes some nice longbow and recurve bows. He is pretty handy with a charcoal grill too. Hahaha. Met Arvin and his wife Deb this weekend, he is definately the one to talk to if you're looking for a selfbow.

There are some good bowyers in Texas for sure but I still miss Jeff Massie. Jeff's "Longhorn" is still at the top of my list for looks, shootability, and performance. Sure wish he was still building bows.

Let us not Forget , Jeff Massie and his Longhorn Bow. It's too bad Jeff isn't in the business any more. Some of my best and most memorable Javy hunts were with Jeff, and his Catahoula Jenny. Not to mention time around the campfire telling stories with him and Tio Kleberg on the ol' Running W, the King Ranch for those who don't know the brand. Cazadores de Tejas, Sutty
