Just be sure to store it properly, which does not include leaning it against a wall. lol

My bows recurve and longbows stay strung all the time. Unstring my selfbows after each shooting session.

Years.  Decades.  I have Bears, Assenheimers, BW's, Chastains..... ain't been unstrung in over 10 years.  They shoot like they did when they were new.

Modern glass bows: indefinatly, thought I prefer to unbrace mine.  I have them strung now as I had back surgery not long ago and the bent-over-pulling-up thing was a no-go for a few months.  Selfbows: brace them when you go hunting/shooting and unbrace them when you get done.  That's supposing a few hours or shooting/hunting.

All of my classic recurves get unstrung every time I shoot but my main shooter is a Hoyt Buffalo and that never gets unstrung unless I'm transporting it in extreemly hot weather.

Never unstring any of my bows no matter how long they hang on the rack without being shot.

I had a 1967 Pearson that was strung for 40 years and hung on 2 pegs by the string in a friends basement. He gave it to me in 2007. It had a linen string and never lost a pound of weight. My RER has been strung for 5 years now. Shawn
