There I was...
« on: July 22, 2011, 09:56:00 AM »
In an awkward position, slowly drawing and trying to manage my anchor. I could feel the sweat rolling down my back as I strained to locate a spot on my target. A mosquito buzzed somehwere near my ear as I zoned in on the tips of the grass my arrow needed to pass through in order to hit my target beyond...The release just happened.
I watch in disbelief as my arrow spins away towards the spot I burned a hole in....barely touching the blades of grass.
THWACK!
I ease my way forward, careful to choose my footing amid the boulders and logs. I see my arrow, standing erect as if to guide my way.
I retrieve my trophy. A 4x4" foam block. I just made the dreaded bedded buck target suffer for all those prior misses.

It was an amazing dream. I wish I didn't have to miss the Muzzy this year...have fun everyone.  :)

Jamie,

That is great news. I am happy to hear you are recovering.  That shot must have done wonders for your phsychie.

If anyone was going to make it through, I'd put $ on you.

     :campfire:
Relax,

I have never gotten the bedded buck block, or know anyone who has.
Anyone out there who has gotten it?

Wow, I could actually visual you making the shot, great description!  Hang in there, be patient, and you'll be back to the stick and string soon enough amigo.

I saw Curt and Shawn both nail it one year when we all shot together.
I don't think I have ever cleared the wall.

Congrat Shawn and Cindy!
I am starting to feel the itch to shoot bad. So far I am behaving. No surgery, PT for now and the prospects are good.  :)

Jamie,
The Muzzy will be there next year. Just keep up the P.T. and it will be worth the wait. Good luck.

I got it twice in one day 2 years ago. The trick is that you can't see the target and have to clear the rock out of your mind. As you are kneeling down and you feel like your arrow is going to hit the top of the rock that is when you need to release. It's sorta like trying to see how close you can come to the rock without hitting it while not being able to see the block....at least for me.
