Just got done shooting a super cool looking Bear A mag with White Knight limbs and it shoots like a dream. Fred knew what he was doing with his TD system.....super flexible with multiple limbs for the same riser.

Others will know better than I but I don't recall any pics / stories of Fred hunting with a Mag riser.

The mag handles are great risers. They are rugged, tough and they are somewhat easy to tune with the adjustable strikeplate.

The A length are my favorite.

Fred did hunt with the wood riser TDs. Don't know about the mags.  I have one mag, an A, and several sets of limbs.  Like it a lot. Very versatile and tough.

I have a B and C mag riser. I shoot the B handle all the time. It tunes up really nicely and shoots like a house on fire. I also have them in wood but find that the mag riser tunes easier because of the elevated rest. I like being able to put on 45 pound limbs for 3D and Field shoots then put on 60 pound limbs for hunting. Saves the shoulders that way.

I talked to the folks from Bear Archery at the Howard Hill shoot and suggested that they bring back the metal riser, perhaps even one made from machined aluminum.
They at least sounded interested in the idea and told me that it would be far cheaper to make than the wood riser.
We'll just have to wait and see if they will do it.
