cane arrows
« on: July 27, 2011, 09:38:00 PM »
Can anyone point me in the direction of a good build-a-long for cane arrows? I have a ton of cane that is dry and i know you are supposed to use hea to get them straight i just can't get the hang of it. I'm working on a couple of bows now and wanted to use wood or cane arrows and since i had the cane on hand i figured i would give it a shot if i could find some more info on it. Thanks for your help!

Go to Forum home, Drop down to the how to forum, find the Ferrets tutorial on straightening cane.

Adam, You have to work on the canes a little at the time. For example, heat and straighten the nodes and then put it down until it is totally cooled off then work on the areas between the nodes. You will probably have to do this a couple of times to each shaft to get them where you want them. Cane arrows are a labor of love!!!
