Animal Fur Back Quivers

Lets see what fur you used. Im in the process of making my first one, and I was wanting to see some pictures of what furs other people were useing. How the strap is attached?

This is not actually my quiver. It is one I made for St. Jude's a couple years ago, but it is very similar to the quiver I made for myself and use all the time. It has rabbit fur around the top. On this quiver, the strap is stitched to the top and offset somewhat. On my quiver it is just laced in with the laces running up the middle of the back. It seems to work pretty well.

I've used my quiver extensively for the last 3 years, and the rabbit fur has held up surprisingly well. I was afraid that it would be all torn up by now because it is so thin. But it's done pretty good. I am planning another quiver with rockchuck fur along the top and I have a badger in the freezer that is also destined for a quiver.

Here's one I did for Badger Matt "Mr. Paratrooper" over a year ago.

It was his arctic fox pelt that he shot while stationed in Alaska and asked to have it made for his son.

Dont have pics of strap placement but it's stitched on with artificial sinew (or you may want to rivet them on because fur can be difficult to sew).
Centered wide then tapers out into the strap sort of angled for the shoulder.

Have another for Widow bit that just shipped out from his coyote hide made the same way but more flattened style on the back, hopefully he can email pics when he gets it.

My girlfriend bought this Racoon hide "cased" at the Howerd Hil shoot in Ala. last month , wanted a quiver made from it. I put a leather cylinder inside of it. Arrows go down the mouth.(which I enlarged)

this is my first  attempt at a quiver> looks like hammered S**T, but it works.It is deer hide inside out with the ends fliped. I am proud of the tanning though.It came out very soft>
