Woodsman Elites and VPA's
«

Are Woodsman Elites and VPA's built buy the same company?
Just curious if they are, and if not, which is better?
I have been using the 125 gr Elite since it came out, and like it. I'm going up to a 160 gr this year, and can't decide which to order. Elite or VPA?

I have been told they are the same broadhead made by the same company, just sold under two different names. I believe this is true since side by side they are exactly the same down to the color scheme.

That's what I thought. Both 1 1/8" diameter, both teflon coated.
Elites are tool grade steel, and VPA's are high carbon. Any difference in the steel?
Look's like all the Elites are black, and the VPA's got some different colors according to the weight.
Both the same price from sponsors here, but a couple bucks difference in shipping costs. I may just go with the Elites since shipping is cheaper.

As noted earlier in the post they are going to be a little more expensive due to the increased manufacturing price. Presale/pre retail packing price will be $45.99. Remember Tragang members get free shipping. Enter coupon code: tradgang at checkout. I am going to post them to the store late this evening when I get a chance. They will be pre-sales for the first run which will be shipping in approx 2 weeks, as will the second run of the other weights. They will be first come -first serve. Open orders on the store front will be shipped in the order received. The next run will wont be available for shipment for approximately a month after.

They are the same heads. 3Rivers owns the woodsman name and packages theirs as such.
If you think the elite/ terminators are tough take a look at the new 2 blades. Those blades are thicker than many broadheads ferrules are made!

Rob, if both heads are made by the same company what do you see as a difference? Is the steel the same?

Same bh's fellas...
Only difference is that VPA makes the vented lighter bh's for 3 Rivers in the longer versions most of us trad guys like...3 Rivers calls them all "Elites"
VPA only sells the heavier, non-vented version as the "Terminators".
VPA does make some lighter vented versions but they are the shorter bh's that a lot of compounders like. Still a great bh.
I personally prefer the dead silent flight of the long, non-vented Terminators.... perfect grind, perfect spin, and the toughest 3 bladed bh I've ever used!
They are all great bh's...anything VPA makes or sells is absolutely top shelf!

This is a bit late but here is the answer:
VPA and 3Rivers Woodsman Elite are different from 100-150 screw on and 125 glue on. Elites are longer and vented in that weight range. VPA does not offer a glue on 125. Same steel. Same high quality.

One other difference....
We (KME) pre-sharpen all the Woodsman Elites for 3 Rivers. Every blade is shave tested before they go into the pack. Being carbon steel, we oil them up but if yours don't shave right out of the pack all they should need is a quick stropping on cardboard to bring them right back.

That's funny. I went out and got a KME to use on my VPA's (Penetrators). Should be a deadly combo.

They are the same head VPA just makes the lighter weight woodsman elites closer to a 3-1 ratio than the terminator heads.
