How do I get more twist in my fletchings?

I see other peoples arrows that have fletchings with a lot of twist around the shaft. How do I get more twist while keeping the fletching spaced correctly? I use a blitzenburger dial-o-flecth.

Unless it's a real old model, there are two clamp adjustment knobs.  Loosen the set screws, and with an arrow in the jig, place the clamp on the magnets and position it as you wish by turning the knobs one way or the other, making sure the clamp touches the shaft its entire length, or at least for the length of the fletch you plan to use.  Then retighten the set screws.

Of course, you need a helical (curved) clamp to impart a lot of helical to the fletch.  If you have a straight clamp, you can impart a little offset, but not as much as with a helical clamp because the straight clamp won't rest on the shaft it's entire length, but pull away from it.

A larger diameter arrow will look like it has more twist then a smaller diameter arrow.I use a helical clamp and I adjust it until I get the quill to make the best contact on the shaft.It is more then enough twist for me.I use a Bitz and Jo Jan fletchers.

At times depending on how long the feather is (5 1/2 " ) the more it wraps around the shaft you may have to use a pin to hold the tip of the quil down against the shaft. I also found that if you add a few layerd pieces of masking tape to the top rest of the jig it raises the shaft and allows for more helicle.

Too much twist is a real downer too-can get noisy and eats energy.

X2 what Bjorn said. You really don't need that much if the arrows are tuned well.
