I'm relocating to northern New Mexico next month.

I was wondering if there was a traditional archery community in the Santa Fe area.
Like most of you I do something archery related every day.

What do ya guys know?

I am not aware of any "traditional" only archery clubs in the Santa Fe area but there are several archery clubs.  Just check in with one of the local archery stores in the Santa Fe area and I'm sure you'll get plugged in.  All the clubs up there have their share of stick bow shooters.

I am not aware of any Trad Bow clubs in the area. The big archery shop in Albuquerque always has one or two trad shooters using the indoor range but I am not aware of anything organized.

I am not aware of much organized stuff either but there are some of us here.  There is one trad only shoot at the club outside Abq but I have yet to go to it because it falls during my busy season.  Elk and javi hunting very good here and mule deer also good.  Good luck and shout at me if you have more questions.....Shawn

Getting a hold of game tags seem to be quite a chore.

Here in Oregon I can buy most everything over the counter and have 6 weeks of elk hunting with general tags.

From what I understand, unless I win a lottery I'll be hunting rabbits, coyotes and straw bails for some time to come.

But hey, we all make sacrifices!

I'm up in Raton - 160 miles north of Santa Fe.
If you are interested in hunting turkey, our Fall season begins Sept 1st and runs through the 30th.  Nonresident license fee is $100 (yeah that's a lot of money for a turkey, but...)  If you are game, you can tag along with me and we can both fill our turkey tags.
