Or a better ferule glue. I currently use the Yellowjacket and seem to always pull my heads off when I pull my arrow out.I normally use the ferrultitite brand of gluestick so I can reheat and adjust the heads and for some reason can,t seem to get it to hold up and ideas? thanks Danny

I have the same target, and I have 2 snuffers stuck in it I can't get out with out destroing the target. Factory glued heads. I'm going to try epoxy next to see if it is better then glue.

It happens. Powerbond glue is a little better in my opinion. Still, you can lose heads in any foam target. Shooting into a mud or sand bank is a good option if your able, otherwise find a glue that works a little better and buy extra broadheads

I use Goat Tuff glue from Kustom King. I have never lost a head yet in a foam target and it is heat reversable. It is more expensive than the other but I think it is worth it.

Forget the glue. What you need is a friendlier target. Pile up some rock-free topsoil and you'll never pull off another broadhead. I reserve a few old broadheads of the type I'll be hunting with for daily practice, but at some point shoot all my hunting heads at least once to make sure they're in the groove. Then sharpen them, of course. Dirt cheap and it works. dave

shoot at old telephone books, tape them up and shoot, the broadhead wont penetrate as far, and make sure you burn out excess oil that accumulates in furule before gluing, dont get blades too hot.

I have a Yellow Jacket target I find that if I shoot blunts into it they come out fine , but field points can be a bear. I have never had a problem with broadheads but I don't shoot them as much.

I recently purchased the Rinehart 18-1 and it works great. I can easily pull broadheads shot from my compound at 20 yards. The only downsides are it's on the smaller side (could be a plus for portability) and pricey at approx. $90.00. Also, Rinehart also offers to replace it if you can shoot it out in one year! Now there's an excuse to try and shred it!

The best broadhead target I have found is dirt or sand. It never wears out and arrow removal is not an issue.

I don't have experience with the yellow jacket, I have a Block and find I can just push the arrow through with a broadhead on it, don't lose heads or tear up the target as much. The target is almost done and I'm looking at a pile of sand for the next one.

I use a yellowjacket with broadheads and the ferrl-tite cement; works great! Just be patient pulling them out and stay away from the edges of the target.

My experience is same as Bjorn's: Yellowjacket and Ferrl-tite hot glue. I've never lost a broadhead in it, and it is nearly dead after three years of moderate broadhead shooting. Three blade broadheads are much more difficult to pull out than two blades.
I second cleaning the broadheads thoroughly before mounting. I soak them in denatured alcohol for a few minutes and then let them dry. That way they are nice and clean and oil-free. I used to loose field points all the time until I learned to clean them with alcohol first.

I'd go to a big Hpme improvement place and ask them about sandbox sand. Put a pile 4 feet high and at l;east 2 feet thick at the top and 6 feet thick at the bottom cover it with grass seeding mesh drive two wire fencing posts into the groud in front of your pile of sand 4 feet apart and shoot cardboard animal targets like we did back in the day.
