Thanks for the thoughtful invite Joshua!
Don't want to HIJACK this thread, but I do want to hunt CO for elk and mulies some day, and I'll need someone to pack-OUT for me as well...using their X2....
What general area of CO do you chase wapiti with your X2 during the archery season?
Keep the wind in your face and your X2 on your back!

Ron, I did used to carry the Badlands line as well. As I have gotten busier with the Bow Hospital I have cut back on the retail side of things to some extent. I like the Eberlestock line up so well that their brand is all I carry now.
Of the Badlands line up I did always think that the Diablo was one of their better designs. It should work fine for you as a hunting day pack. It's when you get an elk on the ground where the X2 really pulls ahead.

X 13 or 20 for the X2. Bought one from Joe last year and love it. I've carried several different brands over the years and this is my favorite to date.

I like my Eberlestock J34 "just one" I bought a few years back on sale and it's been my best pack yet for me. I haven't tried the X2 but it looks great. There are alot of good packs out there choose from but one feature I like in a pack is being able to take at least on quarter out on the frist trip in comfort. I like to have more than one pack around camp too because you never know who willing to help haul or who don't have a pack big enough. I have used frame pack with day packs attacted, small internal frames packs and now the "just one". Good luck on your hunt.

I carried an X2 when in colorado last year. Great pack and even better service from Whip but it just didnt sit right for me at 5'5". The one bad thing I found on the X2 was the squeaking from where the straps wrapped around the frame. Easy fix with a wrap of electrical tape.
I do a lot of Sambar hunting here in Australia which is very similar to hunting Elk. I have reverted back to a Badlands Superday for all my day hunting. Cant fit a Elk quarter in but I have loaded it up with around 30# of goat legs with no probs.
I also have a Badlands Ox for hauling work.
