Suspicious email
« on: August 15, 2011, 10:57:00 AM »
Just wondering has any one received an e mail like this one from a fellow tradgang member before. It looks to me that someone might have hijacked his email address I did make a transaction with him last year through the classifieds. But no longer have his phone number thanks Luke

Good Morning,

I know this will come to you as a shock, try not to be panic or update anyone for now about my predicament. I came down here to United Kingdom for a  short trip unfortunately i was mugged at the park outside the hotel i lodge  last night they went away with my wallet and all valuable i.d  and credit cards including my cell phone's were stolen off me but luckily for me i still have my passports in my traveling bag in the hotel room.

I've been to the embassy and also reported to the Police and my flight leaves in less than few hours from now,but the problem now settling the hotel bills without this the manager won't let me leave until i settle the bills,I'm freaked out at the moment.

Right now just making use of a local library, i cant move around because my passport has been hold by the hotel manager because i need to sort out my hotel bills. I really need your help to be out of  UK today,if not an extra cost will be charge for my stay at the hotel. I promise to repay what ever you send to assist me for my departure  back home.

Please respond asap!

Sounds fishy to me. How can a hotel hold a form of ID a before their time at said place is up? How can a hotel hold ID for any reason at all?

Yeah, I'd say he's been hacked. If it really is him, why on earth would you be the person he's contacting? I'd just ignore it, but if you wanted, there would be ways to find out if it really is Nathan.
