I'm in the process of a home purchase in Florida, I understand deer season has opened there. Anyone having any success ( pic, stories)? I'm heading to Colorado on Saturday for archery elk for three weeks, when I get back will be closing on the house and hope to be heading down maybe to hunt.
Thanks

Where I am at it's not open yet on the WMA's close to me, we have 2 more weeks still, but if/when I have success you can bet I'll post it here
Where in FL are you getting the house?

In De Bary, had a contract signed on a home in Astor but it got vandilized an wreaked. The good thing about the property is every time I was there a deer took off out of the yard. The neighbor said he didn't have any problem getting as many as he needed.
Can't wait to get settled in.

I live in the South Region, the season opens here the last weekend of August. I believe the South region is the first to open. My wife and I love Astor it's small and quite and boarders the Ocala National Forest and St. John's river, plus they have several natural springs in the area. In March come hang out with us a TBOF state shoot it's in Ocala.

Not to change the subject (besides getting this post pulled) but you won't be far from the Indian River Lagoon. My favorite place to fish. Look for a used sit-on top kayak and have some fun when hunting season is over.

Not too far from the house is a lot of hogs being seen, Hope to get permission to hunt there.
The realitor has a property I can lease, she said it's 1200 acres, hoping there is some game to chase there? Well I leave in AM for Colorado I'll try to post some pics if I can figure it out.
Will be in touch when I have more info on the area.

Ditto the above- saw 3 fresh scrapes this am, flock of turkeys about 100 yards out- lots of deer moving during daylight so far...... I hope that doesn't change in the next 4-5 weeks!

Welcome to paradise. From DeBarry there is a place west of you that advertises hog hunts around Eustis. I've seen his signs in town as I pass through
