555 for me too   . In addition to what has already been said about the gain in KE, heavier arrows are also more forgiving to minor inperfections in our form.

I agree w/ the 450 grains guys--10gpp seems to be the best of both worlds--decent trajectory w/ good penetration.

I'm a believer in 8-10 gpp for my arrows. I'm shooting 535 grains from my 55# longbow and 56-58# recurve. Flat trajectory and good penetration.

As long as your broadheads are razor sharp and your comfortable with either the light or heavy arrow within your shooting range(20 yds or less), both will work.

373 with 177 FPS would do the job just fine, so i would go shoot the light one.

555.Your momentum figure for the lighter arrow is .29.For the 555 gr,it is .38.The heavier arrow will be quieter too.

Sorry, but I can make my bows plenty quiet with a lighter arrow, if you can't you should learn how. 555 will do you no good if you can't put it where you want. I know Larry and have seen him shoot, no problem putting it where he wants. Sorry but that many gpp. is wasted, after 12-13gpp. you start to get diminishing returns. I would say 400 grains or so would be ideal. 555 for him is a tad over 12gpp. sorry but NO! Shawn

I would never go less than 10 gpp, so 555 would be my advice.

at 15-20 yards trajectory is not an issue....go heavy! If your shooting 25-35 yards, that's a different story!
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

555 for me although I think that 11 gpp is perfect for big game performance.
