I recently got my ewe sheep tag for the Montana Missouri river breaks in the mail. I was wondering if anyone here had any advice for taking one with a longbow? All tips would be great. Thanks everyone.

Thanks Tim, that story helps a good bit. Hope to see you this september.

Thanks for the advice about the bentonite...i guess people in that area call it gumbo haha

Tough trying to tell a mature ewe from a baby ram. This will cause you to hesitate more than anything. They are very susceptible to the lost wallet stalk, but, can tell by your body language when you are ready to shoot. Work on trying to be nonchalant. I found later in the season more enjoyable, spending time in sheep country watching the rams spar and having to walk by 180" rams to try and kill a ewe....priceless.
Have fun, learn sheep habits, this will payoff in spades when you draw your ram tag.

Contact Traditional Bowhunter Magazine, there was an article about a ewe hunt a couple years ago.  Good luck though, should be a fun and unique hunt!
