Hill Country does it again!!
« on: August 18, 2011, 03:14:00 PM »
Well,  I went to see roman hershberger at hill country today and wow was I ever blown away!  You see, I already had a k-2 on order,  I originally wanted a wildcat but found I liked the grip on the k-2 better and consequently shot the k-2 better.  Well I saw roman at the shoot in cambridge a little while ago and we talked about putting a k-2 grip on the wildcat riser. He said they had thought about it in the past but had not done it.  Well this time he did it!  I was super impressed! impressed enough that I changed my original order!  That bow is dead quiet in the hand,  no shock, no stack,  shoots where you point it etc.  I shot some of the best groups of my life within about five minutes of picking up the bow.  Not to mention roman is very very accomadating in every way and makes it easy to want to have him build you a bow.  I just cannot say enough about either roman or his bows!  Check him out if you get a chance,  you will be very happy you did.  He has adds in traditional bowhunter I believe as well as a cyber home called tradways.com that is run by a super nice guy that is a friend of romans.  Take care,  I will post pics of my new baby sometime the end of sept. or early to mid october!

I could imagine that is one sweet shootin bow.  You going to have that grip on ur wildcat?  Team Fudd is absolutely correct, Roman and Kenny are great guys.  they will work with you to help you get what you are looking for. Plus Roman's work is perfect.  I would imagine we will be seeing this new bow in a magazine!!

Congrats to you!  I love my wilcat. And I heard a rumor that sometimes near spring you may see recurve limbs to fit that riser as well.

I love my wildcats grip so if the new one is better.....wow!

sorry terry, I did not get pictures,  the bow I shot was not completely finished.  I will however provide lots of pics when my new k-2 gripped wildcat arrives.  It will be macassar ebony with a cocobolo flare,  hard rock maple accents, macassar wedges and veneers.  Roman lives close to keim lumber and they have a huge asst. of really great wood so he has an amazing amount of exotic stuff with some really great grain patterns on hand to choose from.  I saw a couple pieces of cocobolo yesterday the likes of which I have never seen before.  I cant wait,  like a fat kid waiting for the candy store to  open.  Should be end of sept or early oct.

Dang, it took him almost a week to do that for you  :bigsmyl:

He told me on the way home Saturday he had a riser he was going to try "your" grip on.

Good luck not gettin antsy during your wait Matt!

What do you mean not get antsy kenny?  This is worse than christmas when your seven waitin on your first bb gun!  It was bad enough when I was waitin on a k-2  but it makes it that much worse now that I am waiting on a wildcat!!  Not to mention when I walked in there is a beautiful piece of macassar for my riser just sitting there!!  Come ON!!  A fat guy can only take so much,  I got a heart condition! HEE HEE.  Second set of words out of my mouth after I said I want to change my order was do I have to wait longer?  I really think roman is enjoying the anguish he has subjected me to. Must be a mean streak under all that nice guy  :bigsmyl:
