I was gonna say Texas Ebony as well.  Great looking wood.

Here's another place. Gilmer Wood Company in Portland, Oregon. Norm Johnson of Blacktail Bows got my riser woods from here for both of my Blacktails.

Check out some photos of the woods this place offer.

Thx guys after talking to Ken again am going with the Macassar for the main wood then either Wenge, Cocobolo, Snakewood or Osage for the flare..having a hard time deciding which one on that.

Wow Brandon!

That Macassar in the riser is beautiful!  I love those ample streaks of brown in it! Imagine how much more amazing it would be if it were in a LH bow!

Macassar w/Wenge flare is no doubt beautiful.

I am just more personally drawn to Macassar w/Bocote Flare. Each of us sees with our own eyes and thank goodness our preferences are different or what a less exciting world we would share.

Click on the 'X' if you wish to see my preferences.

OK Thx. to Mike at    Rosewoodarchery  my Macassar is on they way to the bowery today. All I can say is excellent customer service. I'm sure he is busy and I bugged him a lot with emails, phone calls and wanting pictures,he was very prompt with the emails and was nothing but helpful and patient with me on the phone. He found some really beautiful examples of Macassar for me and the bow should turn out stunning. It was a true pleasure doing business with him & his CO. Highly recommended.

A big Thx. also to all the others that helped in this thread and talked to me. Much appreciated.

I'll be back in 3 months or so with the unavailing.

I should mention that Ken Rohloff of   Whippenstick Bows  has also been a real gem to work with, I bet I've worn him out also and he has been great. I'll sing his praises when I get the bow and have shot it.
