knock is a little loose

I ordered 100 11/32 classic knocks for the arrows I am building and they are a little loose on my string, what can I use to take up some of the space? I have tried to pinch them down some and that doesnt really work-

I dont have a serving tool currently- though I suspect I will end up buying one~

I like my nocks to be loose. I shoot three-under, so I guess my fingers hold the arrow nicely that way.

I prefer mine loose.  As a matter of fact I'll go so far as to sand the insides to make them loose if need be...

Nock an arrow then hold up your bow (horizontally) and let the arrow hang from the string, a tap on the string and the arrow should fall off. Ofcourse you dont want it so loose that the nock comes off durning the draw.

In the end you do have to feel comfortable with the way the your nock fits. Sounds like a server is in your near future.

After doing the test that wt suggests, if the slot is too large, either reserve with a larger diameter string or soak the nocks in very hot water for about 15 seconds and put them on the string and squeeze them to the proper opening size.

they are too loose, they fall off.
I get better groups when I can loosen up my fingers on the nock when drawing- right now I have to pinch it to hold it on the string.
will try the hot water trick on a few of them and see what happens~

I'm sure you know to be careful to protect the integrity of modified nocks. A broken nock can be the same as a dry-fire if it happens at the wrong moment.

If you have the time and inclination, there are some terrific bow string makers around here. If you sent them the nock you want to use I'd bet you'd have a new string for an amazingly low cost in short order.

Though heating the nocks in water and squeezing them slightly works, my preferred method of correcting the problem is to reserve.

Or you could wrap some dental floss over your serving to get a tighter fit.

Reserving the string to the proper fit is the BEST solution. You can bend and sand nocks for a better fit, but not with the consistency you would want. then your string  fits a couple "modified nocks" but not a standard size.
If you try someone else's arrows, be CAREFUL.

Second best solution is to fray unwaxed dental floss over a knife blade and wrap with Duco cement around the nock point. You can reapply Duco when floss starts to wear. This can last a long time and will give you a safe and secure fit. I think Viper said a nock has to be really tight, REALLY tight, to give you accuracy problems.

Nocks that are too loose are an accident just waiting to happen and an ounce of prevention is worth 45-65# of cure (as in a new bow, from a dry-fire).

x2 for dental floss- its cheap and easy- wrap some on and check nock fit, if its too loose try 2 layers
