I have used both on WMAs. I usually hunt so far away from access roads that I doubt my stands are ever seen but I do not leave them up year round. The regs in GA say they have to be removed within I rhink 48 hours of the end of a managed hunt.
Never had a stand stolen but a few years ago I hunted a good looking spot on Dawson Forest that was not so far from the road because it was easy to get in a few hours hunting in the afternoon. I had placed my treelounge on a tree and when I left I secured it with a cable lock. The next afternoon when I return some low life had obviously found my stand and since I had locked it they stole everything that they could, the large knobs, the safety harness, my limb saw, head pillow, steep angle pad and bowhunting adapter. Then just to teach me a final lesson for preventing them from stealing the entire stand they took a knife to the sling seat and and straps cutting everything in half.
Cost me almost as much as buying a new stand to replace all the parts. Now if I am going to leave a climber in the woods I take one of my cheaper climbers that I pick up on Craigslist during the spring and summer for a song.
