Says on the Summit web site that the open shot seat will work with older bases.  They list them on the web site for 149.00 seperately.

you can get a Open shot off **** for $200 shipped. I know it would leave you a spare bottom section but you never know what use you might have for it down the road. I'd spend the extra $50 for it. Ive been trying to figure out a way to make one a sit and stand but no luck yet.

Next year I am getting a climber. The hang on and climbing stick thing is getting too expensive. Once you get to your tree how long does it generally take for you to get set? Does it make a ton of noise when climbing?

a little over 5 minutes for me. I have been using climbers my whole life though and have it down to a science. You can climb as quiet or as fast as you'd like but usually faster is noisier. If you take your time you can be pretty quiet depending on what type of tree your climbing. Where I hunt a sweetgum is the quietest.

Yep, my thoughts exactly!
I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!
