Hello everyone,

Do you guys prefer using ground blind or tree stand to hunt deer or other game?

Ground now.
At 51 Im tired of packing stands.
Shot angle is better at ground level and more of a rush.
But definatley harder!

I like both. Stands give you an overall veiw of the area. From the ground gives you a more personal feel of the hunt. For me it all depends on which areas I am hunting.

Since I am new to hunting and recurve I wasn't sure which to buy first. I will be hunting in Tallahasse this December during the pre rut. The outfitter said both will work.

I've been known to set up a treestand for one wind direction and have a brush blind for another wind direction at the same trail location!  That way I have more options

See more from the tree. Easier to build a makeshift groundblind than haul a climber. Prefer stillhunting to everything else. Have fun & don't limit yourself.

I prefer to sit on the ground but will hunt whatever the situation calls for.

for me it depends on the area.  Love tree stand hunting, the wind advantage, and the overall view.  But hunting at eye level is more of a rush and has its own challenges.  I am getting to where getting tired of lugging stands in and out.  But, remember I hunt deer not trees, so not afraid of ground hunting.

I'm gettin' too old for climbin' and have bad knees too.  So I prefer the ground.  I think it's more exciting, and gives ya more options.  I like bein' eye to eye with them and almost close enough to touch.  Good luck...  :archer2:

Depends on where I'm going. I use ground blind, ladder stands, climbing stands, sticks and hangons.

I use both but it seems like I am more successful in a treestand.

I use both, mostly though I hunt what the conditions dictate, fickle winds and steep terrain where I hunt, so like Buddy Bell said, don't limit youself.  I have got them form trees, ground blind and still hunting.  My favorite is hunting a natural elevated stand, a rise in terrain in proximity to a travel route, shooting down with cover around me ... best of all worlds.
