Tried Something New...
« on: September 13, 2011, 05:58:00 PM »
I got a new idea for these arrows and ran with it. I like the way they turned out.
I actually made two sets here, kind of a tuxedo set and a Friday casual set.

Very nice! I especially like the fade out on the "casual set".
Having done so much, with so little, for so long, I can now do anything with nothing.

As always.....really nice work Guy...they really grab the eye.  The crest on the crest is a classy touch.

Thanks, everyone!
These were a lot of fun to make and I'm pretty pleased with the way they turned out. The silver leaf under the crest was a little tricky but it turned out just fine. I'm looking forward to using some of the same techniques on future arrows.

Beautyful!
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

Shakes, it's the coat of arms for the gentleman who received the arrows. He participates heavily in the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) and has the device there:
Vert, a griffin segreant contourney Or, and for augmentation, maintaining in its forefeet a roundel azure charged with a Caidan cross & a bordure argent

Don't ask me how to read that! I just copied the picture.
