Timberline Longbows by Pete George?
« on: July 07, 2007, 10:28:00 AM »
Does anyone have a old Pete George bow or any pictures of them. They were made in the John Schulz style and I believe he was out of either Nevada or California. Thanks Flint  :)

I also have one of his bows. Yew limbs with black glass. It is 64lbs. at 28 in. Got mine in 1995.
I heard from another customer that wanted a bow that Pete was put out of business by the EPA.?
I guess that was at least 7-8 years ago. To bad, I know a few guys that liked his bows.

gunner is correct the EPA shut Pete down which was such a mental drain on him, he never wanted to go back in the business again. And that is a shame, as John Schultz told me once Pete was the best student he ever had. He was quite a craftsman.

Shakes:
Pete was renting a building in the middle of a 2200 acre ranch in Auburn, Ca. the ranch sold to be subdivided. An enviromental impact study was made, in the process the inspectors walked into Pete's shop, he had no spray booth or fancy dust collecting equipment, they told him to either comply or shut it down. He could not afford to comply!
