Essential Encounters..Jaw dropping/moving/incredible
« on: September 18, 2011, 08:55:00 PM »
Just watched Essential Encounters...and may i say WOW.Wow WoW!!!!!! Awesome, creative, captivating, beautiful and so on. It is by far the very best video i have ever seen about the outdoors/hunting.
I am actually having a hard time describing how great it really is. If you havent seen it get it sit back and enjoy! My kids sat down and were just mesmorized by it.. My middle daughter is now doing her school project on whitetail deer, and my oldest will be doing it on the history of the bow and arrow and we will be playing it as part of there display. So thank you to the Wensels and Mike Mitten. You have outdone yourselves!

It's a good video...no doubt about that!  Although there wasn't much I loved the bird hunting footage.  It isn't every day you see somebody take on birds with a bow!

The only problem I have with people calling it a "hunting video", and no offense is meant to you maxfit, since I completely agree with you,  is that there is the possibility of it getting lumped in with the stuff that is on the boob tube these days, and it clearly is not.
To me, it's not a hunting video.  It's a work of art created by some very talented and passionate individuals.
I recently brought both Primal dreams and Essential Encounters over to my father-in-laws house and told him I had 2 "hunting videos" that he absolutely had to watch.  He quickly told me that he has given up on hunting videos after what he has seen on T.V. recently.  I told him, that these were not your normal hunting videos and that he really needed to watch them.  He never did.  I'll eventually get him to watch them, but it became apparent to me at that moment not to call them "hunting videos" since so many people are disgusted with what they have seen on T.V. as of recent.

The Brothers of the Bow have no equals. I have never seen anything to compare these 2 dvd's to. I would say in a class all their own. The professionalism and beauty is truely a work of art. Yes! Definately Yes, a must see. These dvd's are so good you will want everyone you know, and even all you don't know to view them.

Have you seen their other video, "Primal Dreams"? I thought it was even better.  Great flicks!

I liked Primal Dreams more but that was partially because it was such a surprise - there was nothing out there like it.  Essential Encounters did not have this advantage - the standard had already been set by Primal Dreams.
Both were very enjoyable.

Jon...

LOL...sshhh....don't tell anybody but that's my shorthair "Decoy" finding the birds for Mike.  There is more of Decoy on the 2nd DVD...in the "bow vs gun" challenge.

I have to tell you...I have never had so much fun or laughed so hard as I did with Mike and Whitey while taping this footage. OMG..these two are something else...the comedy is non stop.

We had a lot of fun during the five years of filming EE, but the one day of following Trad-Man's dog around was very rewarding and enjoyable to me. Mike

I just ordered my copy from 3 Rivers.  It should be here tomorrow.  This should really get me even more pumped up for the PA opener this coming Saturday.

It is awesome but I have to agree with Kadbow. Primal Dreams just went right to what it is all about for me.

Regardless the DVD library of every hunter should contain both.
A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight;nothing he cares about more than his own personal safety;is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Mike...
We need to get out again this winter...cameras or not.  I don't think Decoy will have another season left in him...8^(
